Presentation of book in honor to Dr. Enrique V. Iglesias.

With the presence of important Latin American leaders and other dignataries, the presentation of the book Latin America in an Era of Globalization, a collection of 15 essays written in honor of the former Ibero-american Secretary Enrique V. Iglesias took place. At the event, held in the Wolfson Auditorium of Miami Dade College, were present, among other personalities.

The Honoree

Since 2005 Enrique V. Iglesias has been the Ibero-American Summit’s Secretary General based in Madrid, Spain. Prior to this, Iglesias held different positions in international organizations, as well as in the Government of Uruguay, including President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB); the U.N. Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC); Uruguay’s Minister of Foreign Relations and President of its Central Bank. He also was Secretary General of the 1981 U.N. Conference on New and Renewable Sources of Energy and Chairman of the conference that in 1986 launched in Punta de Este, Uruguay the Uruguay Round and the eventual creation of the WTO.
